ALFA Recognizes 40 Horizon Bay Champions

The Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) recently recognized 40 Horizon Bay employees as part of their 2009 Champion for Seniors awards. ALFA conducted this annual contest by challenging all senior communities to submit nominations for their front-line heroes in several different categories. Horizon Bay leaders eagerly responded by using this opportunity to share dozens of wonderful and heartwarming stories with ALFA.
 
ALFA was overwhelmed by Horizon Bay’s response. Contest coordinator Nikki Crevey, moved by these responses, emailed Mike Ulm, Vice President of Human Resources, saying “I am really impressed by the amount of Hero Award nominations we have been receiving from Horizon Bay!”
 
ALFA President Richard Grimes, in a statement to Horizon Bay, said, “Receiving this award is a testament to your superior levels of commitment and dedication to your community, the seniors whose lives you touch every day, and the senior living industry as a whole.”
 
Thilo Best, President and CEO of Horizon Bay, echoed these sentiments and added, “Our company has been built on the commitment of wonderful people like those who have been recognized. I am very proud of each person who was recognized as well as our whole team.”   
 
As recognition for their success, each 2009 Champion winner will receive a certificate and a letter of congratulations from Grimes and Best. The winners will also receive personal congratulations from Senior Vice President of Operations Tiffany Cobern or Mary Sue Patchett, as well as their Regional Vice President of Operations.
