Frank's Story
Mr. Fix It
Frank’s hometown is Houston, Texas. He ran his family’s hardware store for nearly 42 years and the neighborhood kids always knew where to find him when their bicycles had a flat tire. He likes lending a hand to the staff at Horizon Bay.
Frank, will you ever slow down?
I doubt it. I’m a problem solver, fix-it kind of guy. I love to assemble stuff and help people too. When I moved to Horizon Bay last year, I started helping around the community with odd jobs – today you’ll find me tinkering with tools and lending a hand to the maintenance team, the kitchen staff, the front desk – anyone who needs me.
What kind of things do people ask you to fix?
You name it; I’ve fixed it or corrected a problem. I suppose one of the more interesting jobs was when my neighbor Sue called. She was hysterical. She had dropped her wedding ring down the sink. After a few hours of careful work, we retrieved her beautiful keepsake. She was so relieved. I thought she was going to cry.
Do you have a favorite kind of project?
Gadgets, I’m a gadget guy. Old or new, those are my favorite projects. I’m pretty good with all this new technology too – the Horizon Bay game room is a hot spot. We all feel like teenagers again; well, we didn’t have those kind of high-tech video game toys when we were kids, but you get what I mean.
