Individual Stories
Horizon Bay’s senior retirement communities and
assisted living homes are filled with individuals with some remarkable stories, and how these resident’s lives have changed for the better by moving into their new senior homes.
For example, a resident at one of our assisted living homes is a grandfather of 12. He served in the Korean War as a paratrooper and now volunteers as an after school grandfather, helping students make model airplanes. A commercial pilot for 38 years, he’s now able to continue his love of flight “by helping the kids make all of these wonderful airplanes.”
A resident in one of our other senior homes started a swim club at her community. “It’s time the girls and I look forward to spending together,” she says. “We swim hard, but we laugh hard, too! Today, friendship is the part of swimming that I enjoy the most.”
Another story involves a couple at one of our senior
retirement communities. They started a travel club at their community, and really enjoy coming home to share their stories with everyone at the community. “We end up talking and remembering all of our adventures for hours and hours. It’s give us lots of ideas for our next trip.”
