Meet Kristle
Executive Director
The executive director, along with our friendly and professional staff, strives to create positive, stimulating ways for residents to continue living life with meaning and purpose. We are a friendly family where we treat residents like real people with real life stories.
Our community is a great story that includes heartwarming chapters and incredibly unique characters all in a wonderful setting. Here is the executive director’s story:
How long have you worked in the retirement industry?
10 years – I originally went to college to become a clinical psychologist, but once I took one Gerontology course I knew that was a passion that I wanted to explore further. In the end, I received my undergraduate in Psychology, but went on to receive my Graduate Certificate in Gerontology.
What do you like best about your job?
Becoming a part of the residents’ lives
What do you like to do in your free time and why?
Rescue dogs – that is a passion of mine – to be able to save the life of a dog that would otherwise not have a chance. My husband and I have 10 dogs.
If you could meet one person, past or present, who would it be and why?
Mother Teresa – she was so giving, yet always remained humble and never felt she had done enough.
What’s your favorite dish or dessert and why?
Lasagna
In what ways do your residents inspire you?
For many of them – keeping a good attitude, even when their health has declined, and many days are the same as the day before.
Tell us about a resident whose life changed for the better once they moved to your community.
I had a resident who felt that she had absolutely nothing to live for. I met with her and a friend of hers. The resident asked that I meet her at her doctor’s office for her visit to get the FL-2 completed (she was afraid to go by herself). I met with her and her doctor and we got all the paperwork completed. She moved in and the changes I saw were amazing! Her depression went away and she became one of the best marketing tools I had. She told everyone how much she loved living there and how we had become the family that she had never had – even in her younger years. She lived with us for about two years before passing away. I will never forget her and how she changed my life probably more than we could have possibly changed hers!
In what ways do your employees inspire you?
Just seeing their genuine, caring attitude and the strong ties they develop with the residents and many of the families as well.
