Horizon Bay Retirement Living is conveniently located on the Blankenbaker Parkway, just off I-64 and minutes away from both Norton Suburban and Baptist East hospitals. Our community is situated on lovely, wooded acreage surrounded by amenities such as banks, restaurants and churches.
Our community consists of 203 apartments that include all the amenities of home without the work. Some of our spacious apartments feature fireplaces, patios or balconies and a variety of floor plans are available to choose from. With an exciting array of social, educational and cultural offerings, residents are encouraged to renew their old interests and explore new ones. Residents enjoy a variety of activities, from exercise programs and educational speakers to spiritual programs. Common areas include activity and game rooms, a full-service beauty and barber shop, theater and chapel. Our award-winning Signature Programs include scheduled transportation, housekeeping, and three daily chef-prepared meals. Residents can choose from two separate seatings for lunch and dinner to accommodate all schedules.
We offer independent living, personal care and memory care services. For those who need assistance with daily activities, our highly trained staff creates a personalized program tailored to supplement each resident’s level of independence. Residents with Alzheimer’s or related memory challenges reside in a supportive, homelike setting with familiar surroundings. Our aim is to help maintain each person’s unique sense of self by honoring their life experiences through tailored programs, personalized care and positive interactions.

Resident Programs
At Horizon Bay the well-being of our residents is our top priority. Through our Optimum Life® culture, we empower residents to actively engage in life and achieve an optimal state of body, mind and spirit. By emphasizing personal choice, self-direction and optimism, we support the belief that everyone can find ways to enhance health and age well. Our resident programs are designed to provide social, fitness and recreational opportunities that have a positive impact on the well-being of our residents. Resident programs encompass the six dimensions of Optimum Life - physical, intellectual, emotional, social, purposeful and spiritual. These programs reflect the interests and talents of the residents at each community.
Our Optimum Life health talks provide education on a variety of healthy aging topics, including medical, fitness, therapy and social service fields. Additionally, we provide a variety of physical fitness classes, along with our monthly Celebrations events.
Through our award winning Celebrations program, in 2012 we are celebrating the Music of Our Times! Each month we showcase a different genre of music that helped shape American popular culture. We offer new learning and reminiscing opportunities, supported by the six dimension of wellness. This year we celebrate the songs, styles, and memories that make up the Music of Our Times.
