Meet Angela
Executive Director
The executive director, along with our friendly and professional staff, strives to create positive, stimulating ways for residents to continue living life with meaning and purpose. We are a friendly family where we treat residents like real people with real life stories.
Our community is a great story that includes heartwarming chapters and incredibly unique characters all in a wonderful setting. Here is the executive director’s story:
Tell us about a resident whose life changed for the better once they moved to your community.
A woman moved into our community because she was lonely and inactive. After living in our community for two weeks, she became involved in the social aspect of the community and has made several friends. She’s now enjoying her meals with friends and spending her afternoons engaged in activities that interest her.
How long have you worked in the retirement industry?
I have worked in the retirement industry for four years.
What do you like best about your job?
What I like the best about my job is serving our residents on a daily basis. At the end of the day, I am able to go home feeling like I really made a difference in someone’s life.
What do you like to do in your free time and why?
My free time is spent with my husband, family and friends. I enjoy golf, movies and having family and friends to our home for dinner.
If you could meet one person, past or present, who would it be and why?
The one person I would love to meet is Bill Clinton. I admire his charity work and giving nature toward others. I also admire his people skills and his ability to get things done on a large scale.
What’s your favorite movie and why?
My favorite movie is “Groundhog Day.”
What’s your favorite dish or dessert and why?
My favorite dish is fettuccini alfredo. I think fettuccini is the ultimate comfort food.
In what ways do your employees inspire you?
The employees inspire me with the way they accommodate the residents every day. The employees are the most self-giving people that deserve to be celebrated each day because of their commitment to customer service.
How do you create a family-like atmosphere at your community?
The family-like atmosphere is created through a dedicated staff and residents that are ready to share their life with others. The combination of staff and resident involvement creates a warm and nurturing environment where everyone is accepted for whom they are and where they come from.
Tell us about an employee who embodies one of our core values – integrity, respect, responsibility, professionalism or teamwork.
The management team embodies all of our core values. As a team, we are committed to the core values for our residents and staff. We use our core values daily to provide the atmosphere and place of employment that our resident’s and staff deserve.
At The Village of Tanglewood, we understand that deciding where to live is a big decision that deserves careful thought. We invite you to visit us, stop by for lunch or be a guest at one of our special events or classes. We look forward to meeting you.
