They are so friendly and kind. And they need some help – I like to help and care for people. It is very rewarding.

How do you honor your residents at your community?
Patience and kindness – always – every day.

Tell us about a resident with a remarkable life story?
There are many! One in particular had many husbands and traveled and lived all over the world. Remarkable!

Tell us about a resident whose life changed for the better once they moved to your community.
Boy, I have seen many. Once they move in, have many friends, socialize and eat well, they become a different, happier and healthier person. It’s great to see.

How long have you worked in the retirement industry?
13 years

What do you like best about your job?
Everything! The residents, staff. I have the best job in the whole world!

What do you like to do in your free time and why?
Cook & Eat – My family is large and hungry all the time!

What’s your favorite movie and why?
Anything by Mel Brooks –I love the humor!

What’s your favorite dish or dessert and why?
Any pasta dish or Mexican food.

In what ways do your employees inspire you?
I love to see them caring about our residents – always reaching out and going above and beyond the call of duty.

How do you create a family-like atmosphere at your community?
You know, you have to treat them all like family. I really love them and care about them.
