About Our Communities
You may have noticed that we do not generally refer to any of our retirement communities as assisted living facilities. Describing them this way would be selling them short because we consider them to be real homes to seniors. While the phrase assisted living facilities may come to mind when an individual or family member is getting older and needs help caring for daily needs, this isn't an accurate picture of our senior communities.
More than assisted living facilities, these are more like retirement resorts where our residents are treated with dignity and provided with the extra assistance they may need.
Horizon Bay retirement communities offer services aimed at respecting and honoring residents individually for who they are. These retirement communities provide specialized services to residents, and are aimed at providing them with the best living experience possible.
Many of our communities provide a meaningful independent living experience for seniors looking for a community that offer a purposeful and safe environment without the hassles of home ownership.
For those who may need a little additional care or service than is provided at our independent living communities, Horizon Bay offers what may be termed as assisted living facilities. Again, we prefer to view them as retirement communities that offer a special combination of apartment living, personalized supportive services and health care designed to assist residents with the activities of daily living. The services offered allow our residents to experience the same freedom as those at our active adult communities.
Horizon Bay Retirement Living has been managing retirement communities for nearly ten years. During this time, the company has expanded from 22 communities to 96. This number is expected to increase in the coming years - with an increased focus on communities many view as assisted living facilities, but which we view as home.
