Just north of Tampa in Lutz, Horizon Bay Vibrant Retirement Living is situated on five acres and surrounded by wildlife, trees and ponds. We are located off Nebraska Avenue (Hwy 41), about a mile north of Bearss Avenue, across the street from Publix and behind the River of Life church. Our neighbors are a farm with horses and an organic vegetable garden. Birds, rabbits and butterflies are frequent visitors.
Our two-story building consists of 85 apartment homes, all with high ceilings, 6-foot windows, full kitchens and walk-in showers. Three activity rooms, a library, billiards room, and beauty and barber shop are conveniently located in the building. Outside, a walking path circles half of the property.
Residents especially appreciate our all-the-time dining. We offer restaurant-style dining with no set meal times or assigned seating. Residents can order from a menu with multiple options that are always changing. Outside dining is also available on our large, screened patio. Delicious food, regional cuisine and courteous service are just some of the ingredients that make our meals even tastier. Enjoy all of our Signature Programs, which offer scheduled transportation, maintenance and a variety of activities from nature appreciation to happy hour to ForeverFit exercise. For those residents who need assistance with activities of daily living, we offer individualized care and wellness services tailored to their needs.

At Horizon Bay the well-being of our residents is our top priority. Through our Optimum Life® culture, we empower residents to actively engage in life and achieve an optimal state of body, mind and spirit. By emphasizing personal choice, self-direction and optimism, we support the belief that everyone can find ways to enhance health and age well. Our resident programs are designed to provide social, fitness and recreational opportunities that have a positive impact on the well-being of our residents. Resident programs encompass the six dimensions of Optimum Life - physical, intellectual, emotional, social, purposeful and spiritual. These programs reflect the interests and talents of the residents at each community.
Our Optimum Life health talks provide education on a variety of healthy aging topics, including medical, fitness, therapy and social service fields. Additionally, we provide a variety of physical fitness classes, along with our monthly Celebrations events.
Through our award winning Celebrations program, in 2012 we are celebrating the Music of Our Times! Each month we showcase a different genre of music that helped shape American popular culture. We offer new learning and reminiscing opportunities, supported by the six dimension of wellness. This year we celebrate the songs, styles, and memories that make up the Music of Our Times.
