Meet Cindy
Executive Director
The executive director, along with our friendly and professional staff, strives to create positive, stimulating ways for residents to continue living life with meaning and purpose. We are a friendly family where we treat residents like real people with real life stories.
Our community is a great story that includes heartwarming chapters and incredibly unique characters all in a wonderful setting. Here is the executive director’s story:
How long have you worked in the retirement industry?
Since 2002
What do you like to do in your free time and why?
I like to play golf, play softball, take my dog for long walks, and go biking – all because I enjoy the outdoors.
If you could meet one person, past or present, who would it be and why?
The late Steve Erwin, the crocodile hunter. I loved his passion for animals and for life. And I loved how he said, “Isn’t she a beaut!”
What’s your favorite movie and why?
“Rudy.” I loved his passion and his commitment to achieve his dream.
What’s your favorite dish or dessert and why?
Homemade pumpkin pie. It not only tastes exquisite but it brings back memories of family and holiday seasons with its aroma.
In what ways do your residents inspire you?
Their life experience and their advice to live your life to its fullest while you are still young.
How do you honor your residents at your community?
By being available to them every day and listening.
Tell us about a resident with a remarkable life story?
I had a resident who was a Holocaust survivor. He was an American soldier who was Jewish and was captured during the war and sent to a concentration camp. They broke his back, but not his spirit and his will to live. What a remarkable man.
How do you create a family-like atmosphere at your community?
I treat my staff and residents like family. To me, it’s not just a job, but a way of life.
